July, 23 – 25, Sichuan new pattern industrialization and urbanization promotion conference was held in Chengdu. Secretary of the CPC Sichuan committee Liu Qibao, Sichuan Governor Jiang Jufeng and other government officials attended the conference and made keynote speeches. Standing committee member of the CPPCC, board chairman of Tongwei group Liu Hanyuan was invited to be present.

At the meeting, Mr. Liu Qibao pointed out that Sichuan is at the critical time of industrialization and urbanization. The CPC Sichuan committee and the provincial government make industrialization and urbanization promotion the key task of the 12th five year plan – this is the strategic deployment and inexorable demand for Sichuan’s development from a long-term perspective.

During the session, as the representative of delegation A, Mr. Liu Hanyuan paid an investigation visit at Qing Baijiang, Longquanyi districts of Chengdu, as well as Shen Hong County, Sui Ning city for the local industrialization and urbanization progress. He also had a discussion with the delegation members about ideas and measures of promoting new pattern industrialization and urbanization.

At the closure of the meeting, Governor Jiang made a summary for H1 economic development and H2 economic work deployment. He said, currently, Sichuan’s economy is encountering a lot of problems: high price, tight funds, difficult operation of SMEs, difficult in expanding domestic demand, sluggish development of the service industry, and natural disasters. We need to, however, observe and cope with the situation with a cool mind for the objective completion of the twelfth five year plan.
