LU holds first aid training
2012-06-21

June, 20, the Labor Union invited instructors from Chengdu Red Cross to share knowledge on first aid with the staff. President Yan Hu was present.

The training consisted of theoretical learning and practical rehearsal, including instructions and simulation for basic principles such as knowing to use an adhesive bandage or applying direct pressure on a bleed, which are often acquired passively through life experiences.

To provide effective, life-saving first aid interventions requires instruction and practical training. All the attendees agreed that this was especially true where it related to potentially fatal illnesses and injuries, such as those that require cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); these procedures may be invasive, and carry a risk of further injury to the patient and the provider. As with any training, it is more useful if it occurs before an actual emergency. Further more first aid instructions will be organized in future to enhance the skills of the learners.
