April, 28, 2014, Tongwei held the 4th Tongwei Science and Technology Conference. Themed with “Corporate Technological Innovation and the Industry’s Development”, TWSTC organized seminars focusing on the current hot issues in aquaculture, set up a platform to promote new technologies, and shared new information to promote the Industry’s sustainable development.

The Conference invited experts from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chinese Aquaculture Academy of Sciences, professors from well-known colleges and universities, elites and representatives from the sector and media all together 800 guests to attend the event.

The Conference showed to society 2013 Technology Award of the Year of "Tongwei Technology Innovation Fund", the first batch of industry-academia-research project signing in 2014, and pilot household project signing of technological achievements application and demonstration in 2014.

The Fund awarded over¥ 5 million to commemorate 16 major project achievements for the industry and the State in 2013, covering aquaculture, technological achievements, livestock and poultry, animal health, breeding technology demonstration, and testing technique. The achievements include Tongwei’s independent project of technique breakthrough, as well as major projects of municipal, provincial, and state levels. The conference awarded Special Contribution Award and ¥1 million for Prof. Zhou Xiaoqiu,¥1 million respectively for Jianli Carp healthy breeding which had received national 2nd award, as well as 365 healthy farming model.

The conference signed first batch of 14 industry-academia-research projects for new products and technology development. Additionally, the conference signed 6 pilot households, representing 200 pilot households nationwide, promoting the fruits from Tongwei 365 farming model.

Chairman Liu Hanyuan made a keynote speech. He said, for the next three decades, the aquaculture industry will continue to maintain a rapid growth momentum, which is decided by the huge demand for high quality protein in aquatic products. Incorporating the existing experience and demands for future development, we shall consider how to let Tongwei’s technological strength take the lead in China’s feed, aquaculture and the emerging PV sectors. By concerted effort, we can make genuine healthy safe high quality aquatic products, guide consumers to cultivate healthy consumption habits, and form healthy food structure. We believe the pursuit of the dream will come true that in future water environment for aquaculture is bound to improve. There will be blue sky and clear waters again. This is the goal that Tongwei has been relentlessly pursuing.

In the afternoon, Professor Ronald W. Hardy, Prof. David Little, Academician Mai Kangsen, Yin Yulong as well as other international academic leaders were invited to give academic reports on aquatic feed, aquaculture, livestock and poultry feed sector trends.
