Tongwei promotes intelligent breeding models

April, 22, Tongwei held ’intelligent breeding models’ themed conference and further specified train of thoughts in integrated intelligent breeding models and practices.

Tongwei has been greatly promoting intelligent breeding models with major projects of ’deep ponds for low pollution discharge’, ’365 healthy efficient farming model’, ’electrochemical water project’, ’fish feces collection system’, and ’integrated fishery PV project’.

What is Tongwei doing?

1.       Developing web software and cellphone app, achieving remote man-machine dialogue for farmers.

2.       Selecting and collecting precise probe equipment, carrying out continuous auto monitoring over water quality indicators of DO value of dissolved oxygen, pH value, and water temperature.

3.       Establishing data communication service platform for remote communication, linking software and hardware, preparing for big data platform, cloud computing, and cloud service.

’Deep ponds for low pollution discharge’

The pro-environment fishery project "365 healthy farming model – ’deep ponds for low pollution discharge’", was led by Senior Technical Consultant Mr. Wu Zongwen. To develop low-carbon farming, and carbon sink fisheries, specifically, avoid endogenous and exogenous pollution, the Project leader Mr. Wu creatively designed a pro-environment pond system with low pollution discharge, combining deep pond(3-5 m),seepage-proofing thin film, silt-water separation pond, solid-liquid separation pond, artificial wetland, as well as co-existence of fish and vegetables. The system discharges pollution every 3-15 days/time, and can save over 80% energy and labor consumption on silt treatment.

The result of the trial showed, the income from an area of 30 mu (about 19,980sq.m.) exceeded RMB¥400,000, with an average income of over RMB¥10,000. The sale proceeds of loach fries farming/mu exceeded 50,000 from February – May. Additionally, the comparative experiment showed, the fish pond using bottom blowdown has a faster growth rate and lower disease incidence rate. The expected proceeds could reach RMB10,000/mu and above.

The farmer from Dantu county reported the record: The input of 25kg of Tongwei 141 feed had yielded 39kg of southern catfish, i.e., a feed coefficient of 0.73. He concluded that Tongwei feed deserves its name. Chairman Liu congratulated on the achievement, and expressed his wish that the farmers could continue cooperation with Tongwei.

The prominent features and practical value of the ’365 Healthy Efficient Farming Model’ is that each water surface only selects 3-4 fish species with different functions, and strictly adopts 6 major techniques of ’precise combination feeding, balanced aeration configuration, microalgae adjustment and control, fish disease and epidemic prevention, one technique, bottom pollution discharge’.  Output thus can be improved with lower cost per unit, enabling a stable growth in profit per mu (1 mu ≈ 666 sq.m.) of over 50%. This unique farming model and its matching core technique has received high attention within the sector, and been entitled another "Tongwei Phenomenon".

Electrochemical Water

Tongwei Electrochemical Water Project is an innovation project brought up by Chairman Liu in 2007. After almost 7 years trial and experiment, the project has realized 4-level compound sterilization water treatment of supporting assembly magnetic activation treatment, precision media filtration, ultraviolet with the core of reactor. By different water source treatments, electrochemical water for fishery use and for disinfection could be produced, achieving the effect of sterilization, algae, insects, purification and oxygenation. As alternative of chemicals, ECW could be used in fish roe hatchery, as well as RAS and fish pond breeding. It can reduce ammonia, nitrogen, nitrite in water, and decrease disease outbreaks and water eutrophicatoin. ECW could be used in Tongwei Fish body sterilization, fasting, and transportation. Furthermore, it could prevent water deterioration, and improve fish quality and viability. When used in aquatic product processing and preservation, it could help avoid drug residues on food, and prolong shelf life.

Fish feces collection system

The research, initiated by Tongwei Co.,Ltd. in 2009,was conducted to investigate a method of healthy and ecological culture, and to well develop, utilize and protect our blue land resources—the large and medium reservoirs. The resolving solution on feces pollution is discussed on many aspects in the process of net cage culture, including stocking modes, collection of fish feces and surplus feed, biological purification. Moreover, the current ecological, healthy and effective culture technologies are integrated so as to achieve the maximum ecological, economic and social benefits. The newly invented ecological feeding net cage is a breakthrough in net cage structure systems. With the support of technology of physical purification and by stocking filter-feeding fish in outer cages and planting vegetables on the floating islands outside the cages, the pollution of net cage culture to water is lessened to a large extent.

Integrated fishery PV project

Tongwei selects yellow head catfish for research, evaluating the effects of simulated ’Integrated fishery PV project’ to fish’s growth, feed utilization rate as well as plankton and hydration indexes.
